In the Making

Its amazing the amount of impact this past week of snow has had on every one's week. I can personally say it has helped to slow things down, while also speeding others up. I have had the chance to spend four full days not in my car and inside with close friends. Often I find myself spending more time with my new Dodge Neon than with family or friends, even co-workers and classmates if you can believe that. If its not a trip to town for civilization and the usual needs from Wal-Mart, its the usual holiday 600 miles it takes to visit my family members in 3 days, with my foot to the pedal and a hot tire of rubber to the uneven pavement to 3 different cities.

School resumed promptly this Friday morning conveniently for my only Friday class at 8:00am. Really? I have the whole week off and now you want me to get up on a Friday morning at 6am? Thanks school. Thank you for reminding me that the real world only blinks at snow days, and if I had a real job the snow days might have not even happened.

The snow was able to give me the time to be reminded of what I spend every other day working towards. I am more than relaxing and TV. Don't get me wrong, I love sitting around and numbing out to a great episode of whatever reality marathon happens to be running for the week, but there are bigger things I have coming. There is a real, corporate, money making, paper pushing, life changing world out there for me. A world that can help to make all my "fairy tales" and "happily-ever-afters" come true.

I plan to work as hard as I can to make the grades, rock the interviews, and get that job that can help me to achieve the life I have dreamed about for the last 5 years of college. I have paid my due, and soon, very soon, the "big bad world" will induct me into its ranks and set me free to make things happen.

I will make things happen. Real things, big things, things that will help others, and you know what?

I can not wait!

  1. Hey Beautiful!!!!!!

I feel the same! Time normally rushes by, but this snow storm made me slow down and spend time with my close friend (I conveniently got snowed in at her house).

Now it's our time. We join the ranks of 'grown-ups' real soon. Let's enjoy now. Meet you on the top floor of Hasty? Let's run. :)
